Beach Theme Wedding Invitations For Brides and Grooms on a Budget

Looking for beach theme wedding invitations for a water-side wedding? I love beach weddings for SO many reasons. One of them is the motifs - the starfish, seashells, palm trees, sea horse, anchors, sailboats, and more! And then there's the color...mmm, the color! And lucky for us, all of these wonderful motifs are very prevalant in beach theme invites.

The other reason beach weddings are so great is because beach weddings (and invitations) can be more casual than traditional weddings... the postcard wedding invitation is a testament to this. And even if you get married in a low budget venue you're bound to end up with a great view and great pics. Water just never ceases to disapoint. And since beach weddings are often intimate casual affairs there are some lovely, low cost options that allow you to purchase as few as 10 invites. Normally 25 is the minimum.

Below are some of my favorite budget-friendly beach theme wedding invitations. They range in price from $60-$100 for 25 invites. The DIY kits from LCI Paper are a little cheaper ($25 for 50). They're organized by motif - seashells and starfish, tropical flowers, waves, palm trees, nautical designs, and beach-theme colors. Enjoy!

Starfish, Sea horse and Seashell Invitations

Starfish and seashell invitations are a really popular and classy motif for a beach wedding. Alot of people choose to incorporate it in many parts of their weddings. They hang the starfish from the ceremony chairs, adorn their cakes with sheshells, and I've even see people make bouquets with seashells and mini starfish. Here are my favorite lower cost options in this category.

My Picks

Palm Tree Wedding Invitations

Despite the fact that there are a lot of inexpensive beach-theme wedding invitations, Palm Tree invites tend to be a bit more on the pricey side. I'm not really sure why. With that said, there are some lovely budget-friendly options available. I love that alot of these designs include palm tress in unusual colors. It makes it a bit more interesting and unique.

My Picks

Nautical Beach Theme Wedding Invitations

If you're planning a beach wedding on land I love the idea of a Nautical theme. Especially if you're getting married near a pier. If you love sailing or are getting married on a boat these are also a really neat (and fitting) option. I love the anchor motif, but the idea of the compass is also really nice!

My Picks

Photo/Postcard Wedding Invitations

I LOVE photo and postcard wedding invitations. They're a great way to make use of your engagement shots. And, if you're getting married on the beach there's something just so fitting about it. If you aren't getting engagement shots or don't have a really fabulous photo of yourselves as a couple get one of the other beach theme wedding invitation designs on this page.

My Picks

Tropical Flowers For Beach Wedding Invitations

Alot of people forget about the idea of flowers in a beach theme wedding invitation. But if you're getting married on a tropical beach I really think that they're a fabulous option. Especially the hibiscus design! Blue designs or even really bright colors work really great for tropical beach wedding invitations.

My Picks

Waves For Beach Theme Wedding Invitations

One of the best things about the beach are waves. So it's only fitting to include waves on your invitation. Especially if you're not interested in including another motif elsewhere in your decorations. And the cool thing about a wave motif is that it can be as obvious or artistic as you like. It doesn't even have to be an obvious wave design to get across that beach wave feeling!

My Picks

Simple Beach-colored Invitations

Just because you're getting married on the beach, doesn't meant that your invitations have to include a beach'y motif. Beach'y colors as well as postcard wedding invitations get the point of a beach wedding across just fine. And the wording you chose to include on your invite will be the perfect, final touch!

Tips For Keeping The Costs Down

You can usually count on the really simple, sleek looks costing a bit more. Especially those in the more trendy colors. The invitation style is also really important in terms of price. Fancy embossed invites, thick paper, double layer invites, jackets or pocket folds, and invites with other embellishments like ribbon will usually cost extra.

The other thing that you should keep in mind is the size and shape of the invitation. I know I've included a few square invitations above, but something to note about square invites is postage costs. Depending on where you are, you might have to pay extra postage for square invites. Make sure you check with your postal office and be sure to consider this when deciding on your invites. Sometimes, you could end up paying less overall for a rectangular invite than a cheap square one because of the cost of stamps.
