Looking for the best European honeymoon destination ideas? There are literally hundreds, if not thousands of fabulous honeymoon destinations in Europe. With so many to choose from, it can be hard to decide.

That's why I've written this page. I've been to Europe and have alot of friends who visit often as well.

The Europen honeymoon destination ideas on this page are based on our experiences in all parts of Europe. From Scandinavia, to Greece, and all the way over to Portugal.

Wonder how we made our decision? Basically, we tried to find a balance between beauty, culture, and variety in terms of budget and activities. Below are the top 5 European honeymoon destinations for a variety of budget-levels AND interests.

Southern France

With Nice and Provence so close by there is so much to see and do in Southern France. If you'd love to see Paris there's nothing stopping you from flying in to Paris, spending 2 or 3 days exploring the most romantic city in the world and then spending the rest of your honeymoon lounging in Nice or Provence.

Southern Spain

Barcelona is a must if you plan on a honeymoon in Spain! It's an awesome city with incredible architecture, food and shopping. After you've soaked in Barcelona's beauty take a trip down south to Andaluca and into the countryside to experience Spain just as the Moors left it.

Slovenia

Slovenia is a short ferry ride from eastern Italy or a two-hour bus ride from Venice. Adventurists will find much to do in the Soca Valley, sun soakers can lounge and party in the coastal town of Potoroz, and culture enthusiasts can visits the many regions and discover their wine fields, bee farms and so much more. AND, if you really want to visit Venice, you can plan an inexpensive day-trip instead!

Santorini, Greece

Athens isn't the best part of Greece, but is sure does have a great feeling, especially the Plaka and the area around the Acropplis. You don't want to miss it! After a day or two in Athens, take a ferry out to Santorini and spend every night watching their beautiful sunsets! I can say from experience that Santorini will prove to be relaxing, beautiful and worth every penny you spend.

Cinque Terre, Italy

For loungers and active couples, Cinque Terre is a must. You can walk between the five small Mediterranean towns or take a short train ride if you're rather take it easy. It's a beautiful place to visit with small-town charm and beautiful people. Make sure to try the Focaccia in these small seaside towns. I don't know why, but it's the best in Italy!
