Kaelyn and Joshua’s Cheery Yellow Wedding Theme Idea

I’m seriously swooning over these mind-blowing wedding pics! What a lucky lady – and I’m not just talking about her gorgeous groom!

This has to be the happiest, sunniest wedding on the planet – and it was done on a modest budget. Total genius. Kaelyn made her wedding look like something out of a glossy mag with minimal decor.

Want to make your big day a real beauty?

Put on that creative cap and get excited about ideas for a happy summer wedding. If she can do it, you can too!

Yellow, Happy Summer Wedding

Kaelyn and Joshua’s yellow wedding is a masterclass in how to make a colour theme work to traffic-stopping effect. If you want your big day to be bursting with colour and creative ideas that don’t break the bank, check out Perfect Weddings Without the Debt.

The couple got super smart and let their colour of choice and the stunning setting do the talking. Thanks to the outdoor location, they didn’t have to draft in tons of decor. Mother Nature gave them a gorgeous backdrop for free. All they needed to work the look to perfection was those two urns and some pretty rose petals.

And the amazing’ness doesn’t stop there!

Aren’t you just loving the wedding parasols! Super practical and oh-so ladylike, these made Kaelyn’s bridesmaids stand out for all the right reasons. If it was possible to make the pictures look any prettier, these girls totally nailed it. Ladies, I salute you!

Also, the cute little wedding cupcakes look so delicious I want to lick the screen. This happy summer wedding is all about clever little details – like the delicate daises iced onto the top of the cupcakes. They’ve managed to strike the right balance between cute and chic.

It just goes to show that with a bit of creativity and clever thinking, you can have a real show-stopper of a wedding. If mine looks even half as good as theirs I’ll be one deliriously happy gal.

Want to try the yellow wedding theme for yourself?

You’re in luck because it’s super easy to achieve.

Try printing your own invitations with bold and beautiful sunflowers. Use yellow tealights as placeholders on tables. Buy a big roll of yellow ribbon and use it for accents. Give guests mini flowerpots with yellow daises or primroses as favors. Have glass bowls of yellow candy scattered around the room.

Think of things that are naturally yellow and incorporate them in your wedding reception room. Lemons and honey both fall into the yellow colour spectrum. What could be cooler or more creative than giving your guests jars of honey as favors?

Having a wedding outdoors? Try filling birdbaths with floating yellow candles.

  • This wedding reception at Tetherow was beautiful. Bride and bridesmaids looked gorgeous. Kimberly Kay took some amazing photos, which we have posted on our website, tetherow.com. The backdrop of the majestic Cascade peaks and Deschutes National Forest couldn’t have fit a more picture-perfect day.
