Chris & Emilia’s Green & Orange Wedding

Put green and orange together and you’ve got one gorgeous color combination! Chris and Emilia’s big day was all about modern elegance. I’m thinking Grace Kelly meets Kate Middleton. This outdoor wedding is a masterclass in style and sophistication.

Notepads and pens at the ready, ladies. It’s time to take notes.

Totally digging the dress! My Vera Wang radar was spot on. I know a Wang when I see one!

Now, I would love a bit of Wang action but can’t afford it. However, do keep checking the internet for previously loved Wang gowns. Believe me, they are out there. I almost went to look at one for a fraction of the full price.

If you’re determined to have a designer dress there are ways and means of bagging one without blowing the budget sky high.

It’s nice to see a bit of fuss and flounce on a very contemporary dress! Check out the back – awesome. Emilia’s dress combines an elaborate skirt with a simple bodice. It’s all about the back, baby! Stunning stuff.

Loving her work on the shoes too. These little lovelies are unusual, beautiful and have a bit of sparkle about them. Low heels too – ideal for dancing. Smart lady.

The location was pure New Hampshire. Chris and Emilia selected a setting that combined grandeur with natural beauty.

The flowers for the this green and orange wedding were glorious. Emilia’s bouquet is a real showstopper. The blend of white, green, orange and soft browns was pure genius. See how the floral designer worked foliage and pine cones into the mix? A very contemporary bouquet for an incredibly elegant bride.

The bouquet holder is a real beauty. Check the pearl pins and leaves - not to mention the stunning centrepiece secured to soft folds of ribbon and fabric.

In some areas they kept it simple (and special of course!) with classic script and scrolling on menus and placecards.

You don’t have to splash the cash on elaborate wedding stationary. This is one area in which you can go down the DIY avenue. Buy some good quality paper and print menus off at home. Less is most definitely more in this area.

The decor was truly dazzling. Before you automatically assume there’s no chance of achieving a similar effect on a small budget, take a second look at the images. Yes, there are some elaborate floral centrepieces. However, there are also some simple plants. Not to mention alot of tea lights on tables.

Lighting played a huge part in setting the tone and style of this outdoor wedding.

Lanterns were everywhere; on the lawn, sitting on tables and illuminating the roof of the marquee.

See what I mean about the lighting? Clear fairy lights and tapered candles added the finishing touches when the sun went down.

Emilia and Chris brought the great outdoors inside and gave their guests a party to remember with rockin’ tunes. A girl can’t go wrong booking a band called The Sultans of Swing!
