Colleen & Joshua’s Gorgeous Green & Brown Wedding

A totally on trend wedding with a touch of the traditional. Colleen and Joshua’s green and brown color scheme was worked into every aspect. They didn’t need to splash dollars on tons of decor or detailing. The earthy colors, classy venue and stunning setting said it all.

Three words instantly spring to mind – old school elegance. It never goes out of style! Colleen’s dress blends the vintage vibe with contemporary styling. Like that beautiful brown corsage on the waistband.

This couple rocked the 3 rules of beautiful budget weddings:

  1. Don’t stick religiously to your colour scheme.
  2. Add personal touches and give guests roles to play.
  3. Choose dramatic flowers and adopt the ‘less is more’ attitude.

The wedding flowers were genius. Brides on a budget listen up! Choose the right florist and you’ll reap the rewards. I love the way browns and greens have been mixed with creams and yellows. When it comes to wedding flowers, popping a few complimentary shades into the bouquet works wonders.

Check those green sunflowers! A stroke of genius. I love the yellow variety but these score top marks for drama!

See how they kept table decor simple and chic? You don’t have to spend a fortune to get the sophisticated effect. Those tall vases with towering lillies score top marks for elegance.

I also like the way they added bright whites into the mix. The gorgeous white aisle arrangements tied with brown ribbon added a splash of romance.

Colleen and Joshua’s wedding is a masterclass in how to really work a color scheme. BMs and grooms are both within the boundaries of brown. Only one group is clad in chocolate and the other in cappuccino.

Few tears from the flower girl at the end. Well, it wouldn’t be a wedding without a bit of blubbing!

That’s what I like to see! Bride, groom and guests getting their groove on. A wedding without music and dancing is like low fat chocolate. It’s ok but doesn’t quite cut it!

I love that one of the guests sang at the wedding breakfast. Got a friend or family member who can belt out a tune like Beyonce? Get them to the mic – it adds a real sense of occasion to the day. Give guests roles to play and they’ll instantly feel part of the proceedings. Plus it will save you money on hiring professionals.

I couldn’t sign off without taking a moment for these arresting after-dark photos. Make the most of the moonlight, ladies! You don’t often see night-time wedding pics but these might just start a trend. I’ve already made a mental note to include a couple in my wedding album.
