Heather & Lance’s Pumpkin Themed Wedding

The groom took the driving seat and made this DIY wedding a real dazzler! He obviously nailed it – Heather couldn’t look happier if she tried.

Pumpkin decor played a huge part in this fab fall wedding. Lance swapped expensive floral ceremony arrangements with funky pumpkin pillars along the pews. The orange and brown color scheme was worked into every aspect of the day.

The groom wore a delicious rich chocolate brown wedding suit. The illuminated pumpkin table centres gave the reception venue a warm orange glow.

The wonky wedding cake with brown ribbon looks like one from a glossy wedding mag. Classy, creative and gorgeous! Hand crafted by a member of the wedding party, no less. That must have saved Lance lots of lovely dollars.

The secret to his success was creative use of colors, flowers and lighting.

Team warm orange with chocolate brown. Look at the brown ribbon on the pumpkin tiers. Pure genius! Add flashes of lush green foliage in the bridal bouquet and you’ve got it sussed.

See how this couple used candles and fairy lights to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere?

The real stroke of genius was the reception venue. I have a confession to make! Before I saw these breathtaking pics I was a bit of a balloon hater. I’ve changed my tune now!

Lance turned the church gym into a storybook setting using black helium-filled balloons. The faux leaves you see above were attached to the balloons. This lowered the high ceiling and created an intimate, low-lit and super romantic atmosphere.
