James & Amanda’s Summer Yellow Wedding

Ladies, it’s time to pay some serious respect! James and Amanda’s magnificent military wedding in the great outdoors deserves to be saluted. A summery vibe, gorgeous traditional details and chic but simple style touches blended together beautifully.

Yellow lead the way with hints of black, white and green bringing up the rear.

There are tons of lessons to be learned from this wedding. The setting was stunning but the decor and details were simple. If you want a sophisticated and traditional wedding, look no further.

Belvoir Winery in Liberty, Missouri, was the location and it did them proud. You could be forgiven for thinking they got hitched at a centuries-old English country manor. Check that gorgeous gazebo! Romantic or what? This happy couple didn’t need an elaborate floral ceremony arch. The white pillars and plants were enough on their own.

Speaking of flowers, James and Amanda used them sparingly. When you have such a bold color taking center stage, it’s not necessary to go overboard on bridal blooms. Amanda’s bridal bouquet is simple but super pretty.

The winery had it all – lush green lawns, gardens, trees and a fabulous red brick entrance. You couldn’t ask for more photo opportunities. The inside of the reception venue was every bit as amazing as the grounds.

Loving the contemporary look for the dining room. Yellow, white and black blended to dramatic effect. The candelabras complimented the top table perfectly.

Plenty of foliage was used in table centerpieces and flowers were stood in silver planters.

Totally digging the table full of candy! If you’re looking for a pretty and inexpensive way to decorate tables, bowls of candy will do the job beautifully.

Signage played a huge part. See how they kept it simple but special with chalkboards and classic fonts? Nice work on the corks as holders for name cards!

It would be rude not to take time out for Amanda’s fairytale gown. She followed the first rule of wedding dress selection – keep your personality and setting in mind. Her romantic dress with delicate beading and embroidery was the perfect choice for a military wedding at a winery.

Yellow was worked into every aspect of the day – even the U.S. Army cake! Amanda and James had 2 wedding cakes; one was military and masculine, the other was girly and gorgeous with simple anemones decorating the tiers.

Although yellow took the lead role, not every single detail was designed to follow a strict color scheme. Amanda honored the something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue wedding tradition.

Romantic and traditional with simple decor and contemporary touches, this summer yellow wedding rocked on every single level. If there were ranks for weddings, it would be an Admiral!
