Jessica and Kevin’s Bright and Beautiful DIY Garden Wedding

Fresh and pretty and just bursting with vibrant color – that’s what this gorgeous Indiana wedding is all about. There’s just so much to love, from the rustic floral arrangements to the fabulous dessert table and popcorn station. So sweet!

I love how outdoor weddings really make the most of their surroundings, but this one really just explodes with color and freshness! The lush green Avon Gardens, where Jessica and Kevin chose to hold their event, are so pretty – and the perfect backdrop for all their adorable little DIY touches.

The aisle decorations are so simple, yet just right for the setting. I love the white rose petals against the vibrant emerald of the grass, and those mason jars filled with fresh flowers look so adorable hanging from the chairs! They’re so easy to make yet have a real rustic chic look, and I love the fact that Jessica used the same style arrangements as centerpieces for the reception.

Speaking of the bride – how elegant is that dress? It looks so great with that twenties-inspired hair ornament, doesn’t it? I think it’s fabulous that Jessica chose a dramatic hair ornament with a delicate froth of net instead of a traditional veil, it’s a trend that I think is going to really take off as brides look for ways to show their individual style.

As for the reception, there’s more DIY magic at work here!

The bride actually helped prepare some of the food herself, and friends and family all pitched in to bring a variety of cakes, cookies and pies for the dessert table. They all look so delicious, I can feel my mouth water just looking at the pictures! My favorite table has to be the popcorn station, which was set up by a local popcorn artisan and featured all kinds of exotic flavors! Yum!

If you’re looking for ways to keep catering costs down at your own wedding, take a leaf out of Jess and Kevin’s book – they used the skills of family and loved ones and stuck to good old-fashioned traditional fare. They also used local vendors to keep costs down and even served wine from a local vintner! Great ideas, and the end result is a wedding that looks great, stays in budget, and represents a real labor of love by all involved!
