Katie and Josh’s Purple and Yellow Summer Wedding With Hints of Green

Friends, family and nature – what more could a girl want on her wedding day? Pretty, fresh and totally natural! I’m loving everything about this simple but stunning purple and yellow summer wedding.

Katie is one totally modern bride with impeccable taste. This brave lady whisked Josh off his feet by proposing to him whilst they were dancing. Then sealed the deal with a vintage pocket watch. Alternative and classy. Yes!

You couldn’t ask for a finer storybook setting than New York’s Fort Tryon Park. Genius choice! And the ceremony was to die for!

This wedding channels Mother Nature to the max. The Jewish wedding ceremony was something really special. Katie and Josh gave it the personal touch with lots of thoughtful little details to bring a tear to the eye! They exchanged vows under a Chuppah from a wall hanging in Josh’s hometown temple. Love the way they took a traditional ceremony and made it their own.

After dark, Josh loosened his tie and Katie changed into a slinky number. The newlyweds took the dancefloor by storm! It was all thanks to the foot-stomping sounds of Robbie Scott and the New Deal.

How to Make This Wedding Yours

Fancy stealing Katie’s style? It’s easy as pie, ladies!

First, keep your flowers seasonal. Every season has its specific blooms that evoke the spirit of the season. Spring wedding flowers spell femininity and romance. Look no further than Katie’s super pretty bouquet. Softer purples, whites and light greens work together to create a fresh and natural bouquet. Her loosely tied ribbon adds the finishing touch.

Get your greenery out! See how they worked the outdoor wedding theme into every aspect of the day? The floating bowls of sunflowers are set off brilliantly by lush green leaves. Lovely stuff – and you can do it yourself and save some dollars. Check out Perfect Weddings Without the Debt for more budget bridal tips.

Katie and Josh made three bold colors work together by using them sparingly. Check out the way they’ve used deep purples for the bridesmaids and set off the dresses with cheery yellow sunflowers. Hints of green are worked in subtly to give a nod to the natural look.

Bring back cocktail hour!

Katie and Josh’s guests had a grand time sipping theirs outside the fab New Leaf Bar & Restaurant. Consider swapping champers for seasonal cocktails. I’m thinking fruity Pimms cocktails for a spring wedding.

Chocaholics take note of her scrummy looking cake! If you’re not a lover of fruit, a chocolate wedding cake is the way forward. And its pretty, but simple ivy decoration is a lot cheaper than a bed of flowers! Josh, hold on to this one – she’s brilliant ;)

And finally, get your guests rocking with a live band.
