Kelly and Michael’s Refreshing Yellow and Green Summer Wedding
Zingy and zesty, Kelly and Michael’s Myrtle Beach, South Carolina wedding has the freshest citrus color palette ever!
With not a lot to spend, this resourceful couple found a million lovely ways to make their wedding utterly, fruitily fabulous.
Check out the cute lemon ‘n’ lime place cards, and the ADORABLE cake topper made of fruit rather than flowers – it’s kooky and quirky and so unconventional, we just can’t help fallin’ in love with it. See – k.i.s.s. really does work!
We’re also loving the gorgeous silver pails filled with flowers, a practical and economical alternative to expensive glass vases, and just too, too perfect for the rustic setting.
Make These Ideas Your Own
Looking for some DIY wedding ideas for your own big day? Take inspiration from this couple and work your theme around a colorful fruit – peaches work just as well as lemons, as do oranges, red or green apples, and summer berries. You can create gorgeous centerpieces, place card holders and even wedding favors using just fruit, ribbon, card, and a few woven baskets.
Fruit looks cute on cakes too, so you could order a plain white cake and decorate it yourself to save on cost, or keep the cake small and serve mini-cupcakes topped with fruit.
And if you’re in love with this lemon ‘n’ lime theme as much as we are, why not recreate it using the same colors for a really fresh and happy summer wedding?
They say that if life gives you nothing but lemons, you should make lemonade. Well we say, heap ‘em high and enjoy how they look at your lemon themed wedding!

What an awesome little wedding!!! Unique yet elegant! LOVE IT!
Susan
The centerpieces were made by the bride’s family. There were three types – one with all flowers – like the one shown – one with lemons and greenery and one with limes and yellow flowers. The galvanized buckets that hung from shepherd hooks were from the hardware store which were filled with the same flowers as the centerpieces!
