Kiran and Rich’s Red and Black Summer Wedding at the Farm
Marshmallows roasting on an open campfire! A ruby red wedding gown AND black bridesmaids dresses! Could this be the most imaginative wedding ever?
As a country chick, I’m crazy about the way this couple used the natural surroundings of a farm as inspiration.
Kiran and Rich’s wedding makes me think of lazy summer days and campfire nights. I bet their guests had a total blast! Red potatoes – brilliant or what! By channeling the “feeling” of the farm they could go down the home-made route with decor and detailing. Check out the crafty cake and that lovely rustic-looking sign. In this setting, they look picture perfect.
This clever couple have proved one thing beyond a shadow of a doubt. A summer wedding doesn’t have to be fancy to look FANtastic!
Kiran chose a pretty unconventional wedding color combo. She pulled it off beautifully - and in the height of summer too! No mean feat. It’s all about picking the right tones and hues. She’s teamed pinky reds with richer ones and used black sparingly but to maximum effect.
The farm location is pure genius. Rural, rustic and absolutely right for evoking the happy spirit of summer. I think you’d be hard pushed to create such a fresh-looking summer wedding in a chi-chi venue.
Olivia Gird Photography Via Two Bright LightsRich and Kiran came up with easy, inexpensive and fun ways of keeping their guests entertained. Evening activities were themed around what you’d do on a farm after sunset. Simple but incredibly smart too!
This is ‘how to work with your venue 101.’
Take a look at the pics below. This couple deserve an A for imagination for their fun evening entertainment. See how they evoked the traditional farm feeling with chilled-out activities and a laid-back vibe? Look at the couple by the fire – loose, relaxed and loving it! Check out those fizzing fireworks in traffic-light red. ‘Wow’ doesn’t do this farm wedding justice. I bet their guests had a real blast!
Make This Wedding Yours
Fallen in lust with this red and black farm wedding? Take inspiration from Karin and Rich and have a big day that’s more fun than frou-frou.
The best thing about a farm wedding is that you can get super creative and enjoy the ride! It’s brilliant news for brides on a budget. The rustic look lends itself to DIY touches brilliantly. Little homemade favors and hand-tied floral arrangements look perfectly at home in a natural farm setting. Check out Perfect Weddings Without the Debt and make your dollars work hard.
Select shades that sit easily with green as that’s your base color in a natural setting. Karin has used hints of white within the red and black, which softens the look and complements the lush green grass.
Color schemes aren’t just for flowers, dresses and decorations! Incorporate your color scheme into your menu, just like Karin and Rich did. How about cherry cheescake for a red wedding theme? Or good old applie pie for a green theme?
It’s all about making the most of the vibe and color of your location, ladies!
