Respect goes out to Kristina and Zachary for creating a dazzling DIY autumn wedding. Take a leaf out of their book and get a fab set of wedding photos.
Everything from the hints of orange color scheme to the pumpkin table decor and wildflower-style bridal blooms totally rocked!
Pretty and romantic yet cool and contemporary, these pics show that DIY is the way to go. Pens and notepads at the ready, ladies. It’s time to check out some seriously awesome but inexpensive wedding theming and decor ideas.
The setting screamed fairytale romance. The shot of the happy couple by the river is a real stunner! There’s nothing quite like an autumn wedding for getting the best out of the great outdoors. The colors are mind-blowingly beautiful and the temperatures warm but not stifling.

Kristina channelled the trash the dress trend. I wrote about this last week but in case you missed it, trashing the dress is all about playing around with wedding photography to create works of art. Take one elegant dress, a gutsy bride and unusual surroundings and you have all the ingredients for truly distinctive wedding pics.
Loving the location! Rugged rock formations and golden sunlight made for a dramatic backdrop.
Check the gorgeous turquoise bridemaid’s dresses. I’m noticing a huge shift towards dressing bridesmaids in slightly different styles. If you’re not exactly a matchy-matchy kind of a gal, this is a great way to mix things up a bit.
Kristina did the elegant bride thing beautifully but threw in a few funky and contemporary touches too. Pretty hair pins and delicate jewellry looked lovely but the turquoise Converse were a great nod to more modern trends.
I could talk about bridalwear until the cows come home but the amazing interior decor deserves a standing ovation! The orange, blue and white lanterns created a massive impact without draining Kristina and Zachary’s budget.
Ditto the wedding favors. Each guest got 2 lovely little candles in a bag tied with turquoise ribbon. You could easily make these yourself.

Totally digging the pumpkin and wildflower centerpieces! Why use a normal vase when you can carve out a pumpkin and create a natural one?
Mini pumpkins were also used as soup bowls. Ingenious!
The great thing about including orange in your color scheme is that it creates instant impact. Tables can be kept simple as such a strong shade speaks volumes.
The cupcakes look totally scrummy and the pumpkin cake toppers were both cute and funky. Nice! Kristina and Zachary got smart and served them as the dessert course.
Check the sparklers and clear fairy lights. Both are inexpensive and look fab at evening reception venues. After a super romantic first dance, guests got down on the dancefloor ’til the wee small hours. Perfect!
