Liz & Ara’s Black & Aubergine and Green Damask Spring Wedding
Now here’s decor you don’t see every day! Liz and Ara’s black, aubergine and green damask spring wedding made me smile from the moment I laid eyes on the first pic. This perfectly matched pair are no slackers in the style and taste stakes.
Vintage and contemporary touches, a wow factor color scheme, fab footwear and super pretty flowers – what’s not to love?
I have to admit I’m a teeny bit jealous of their imaginative decor. If you’re stumped for ideas and want to make guests gasp, look no further for inspiration.
Gorgeous guest book! It’s got the whole DIY, handmade thing going on. You can pick up a book and customize it to suit your taste, colors and theme so easily.
The shoes are a work of art. Zesty green, pink and aubergine make a fab color combination. This wedding is all about the combining colors that make a dramatic statement. Liz got smart and went for flats – ideal for dancing.
The Wichita Boathouse, Kansas, was the location and it came up trumps for Liz and Ara. Glorious sunshine, green lawns and a lake gave them a fab set of photos. Check the purple blossom. Swoon! Also loving the very simple but special ceremony setting.
You don’t have to go bonkers with optional extras such as ceremony arrangements and arches when you’ve got a gorgeous backdrop at your disposal.

Liz’s dress deserves some respect, as does the photographer for backlighting it to such awesome effect. Black is a bold choice for bms but the aubergine and green worked wonderfully with the simple, classy gowns.
Groomsmen looked pretty dapper in summer suits, black ties and green’ish yellow buttonholes.
Flowers played a key role in the decor and detailing but Liz and Ara didn’t go overboard. The shades said it all. Different tones of green, pink and green were combined to create beautifully balanced bouquets, invitations and table decor.
Speaking of which, scroll down to see some traffic stopping tables!
I love everything about the table decor, from the damask panels to the simple and pretty centerpieces in glass jars. See how they tied the drinks in with the color scheme? Glasses of Bucks Fizz looked beautiful against the black, white and green tables.
Finally, we have the wonderful wedding cake. It wouldn’t look out of place in a glossy wedding mag but the same effect could be achieved by the DIY bride.
The best thing about this wedding is that it looks chic and sophisticated but the style details are achievable if you’re on a tight budget. Take black, white and green and you’ve got a great starting point. It’s a color scheme guaranteed to turn heads and allows you to keep things simple when it comes to decor and detailing.
