Sara & Geordan’s Sensational Spring Wedding

Check out the world’s most imaginative wedding! Offbeat, beautiful and highly personal, it ticked all the boxes and then some.  If you want to have a blast on your big day, take a leaf out of Sara and Geordan’s book.

They embraced the DIY wedding idea, spent in key areas and got the big day of their dreams. Funky, stylish and totally original, this spring wedding is a work of genius.

These mind-blowingly brilliant nuptials included:

One ceremony, two coffee shop receptions, a group bike ride round Vancouver, a formal reception and a barn dance!

This wedding perfectly illustrates the K.i.s.s. Wedding philosophy. Keep it simple but special, people! Sara and Geordan did and got absolutely stunning results.

See the flowers? Simple. Tableware and placecards? Fuss free. Decor? DIY, baby!

There were tons of quirky little touches that made this spring wedding stand out for all the right reasons. Funky meets vintage and the results are awesome!

You could make invites and menus like these so easily and save an absolute stack! Read Perfect Weddings Without the Debt and find out exactly how to do it.

A word about crayons - kids like them. A friend of mine was actually thinking of splashing out on a kids’ entertainer to keep the little people from grizzling. Girl’s gone crazy! Paper and crayons can be just as good and don’t cost a bean.

The green, white and coffee color scheme complimented the tone and style of this glorious spring wedding perfectly. There was a very strong vintage feel to the wedding outfits. Sara’s short dress is pure Audrey Hepburn and those shoes have the one-of-a-kind thing going on.

Loving the buttonholes too. Talk about getting creative! Rosettes looked lovely with the retro suits and ties.

There were alot of seriously scrummy looking cakes at this wedding. Sara is a girl after my own heart! Hey, if you can’t have your cake and eat it at your own wedding, when can you? The iced bikes are a lovely touch.

The homemade touches suit Sara and Geordan’s style perfectly and gave their nuptials a laid-back look and feel. That simple basket is beautiful and the tablecloths gorgeous. They worked the mismatched wedding decor trend brilliantly.

Loving the LEGO displaystand and ring box. Inexpensive and ingenious! A great way to personalise without blowing the budget.

I’m mad about their guest book! Full of classic phrases and cartoons.

Thinking of doing wedding favors but fancy something with a bit of flavor? You can’t go wrong with hand-tied bags of zingy fresh ginger.

Paper plates at a wedding? Why not? They certainly worked well with the hampers and tea lights and gave this spring wedding that carefree picnic in the park feeling.

Check out the evening reception venue! What better way to celebrate than with a barn dance? The differently colored tables, wooden beams and clear light bulbs set the scene for some badass boogying.

This wedding shows what happens when you stay true to your style and stick to a budget. By planning their big day their way, Sara and Geordan got a set of awesome wedding pics that they’ll want to show off to the grandchildren.
