I'm a huge fan of Auctions. One of my most exciting purchases of all time was a $600 flight to Hawaii which I purchased on an online travel auction.

I'm not a big risk taker and if you aren't either there are safety measures in place to protect you from getting carried away with "winning" your ring.

Sites like Ebay let you decide on a max price you're willing to spend and will never go over (unless you change your mind). And that's where you need to be careful - getting carried away with the "win". But if you decide on the the max price then the only outcome you can expect is positive.

This is a bit like an online auction, but doesn't happen online. It can be harder finding modern and cheap wedding rings sets at an estate sale, but if you're a fan of simple or Victorian ring styles you might be in luck!
