5 Top Ways To Use Wholesale Freeze Dried Rose Petals For Simple And Cheap Wedding Decor
Considering rose petals for your ceremony aisle or wedding tables? If so, good idea! Wholesale rose petals are a super inexpensive way to decorate and they don't create the mess (and litter!) that silk rose petals do.
When you buy your freeze dried rose petals you'll find that the smallest amount you can get is 10 cups - at a cost of about $20. Wholesalers sell them for around $15/10 cups.
{1} Use Rose Petals To Line Your Aisle To Draw Attention To You And Your Vista

If you're lookin' to save take cues from Erica, the bride in this wedding. They didn't scrimp on the quanity of rose petals (they probably spent about $200 to line the aisle). BUT they didn't get (or need) any extra decor for their ceremony. This is actually one of my favorite savings tips from the K.i.s.s Wedding Guide.
Erica really took this tip to heart! Instead of spending a lot on decor, Erica and Sean let the scenery take center stage. And I dunno about you, but I think that just having the rose petals actually draws your eye towards the wonderful vista (and their romantic nuptials). Any extra flowers on the chairs or urns at the alter would have ruined the effect.
Goes to show you that keeping it simple really does work!
{2} Use Eco-friendly Rose Petals For Your Wedding Toss

Alot of people don't even consider this for a wedding, but it's an eco friendly alternative that'd look great in photos! They're a little bit more expensive than lavender or typical confetti, BUT if you're wedding is small and intimiate this is a viable option.
I love the pretty doily DIY petal cone by Martha Stewart, , but you can also get some ready-made petal cones from Beau-coup or Eliza Fig. These too are really pretty and if you're not into the idea of another DIY project they aren't that expensive either.

This couple is one of the cutest, greenest, funnest couples I've featured on the real wedding blog to date. They're seriously adorable AND savvy!
Instead of expensive flower arrangements at the treats table they opted for a simple, handwritten note (nope, not the perfectly printed notecards for this couple!).
And as you can cheap wedding decorations like rose petals can go a long way. AND can save you a lot of money on expensive table centerpieces.
Here's a great example of you you can make that work. Take note: If you prefer printed or fancier note cards this effect still looks brilliant!
{4} Sprinkle a Little On Your Aisle - A Little Goes A Long Way

Cassandra and Steven got the full of effect of rose petals in the pics for only about $40.
Instead of lining the aisle with rose petals they opted for the scattered rose petals effect! It's a more natural-looking approach and a lot less expensive than the alternative.
Cassandra didn't' bother with flowers at her chairs, or even urns. The venue does however have trees at the head ofo the altar.
If you've got a fabulous vista, are going for a more relaxed feeling at your wedding and aren't into things looking "perfect" then this is a great cost-saving decor idea for you.
{5} Combine Flowers With Petals For Even More Effect

I've always had a soft spot for this wedding. It's actually the first submission I ever got at the K.i.s.s REAL wedding blog (and it's also one of my favorites!).
Unlike the bride above, Kristen needed a little extra umph for her ceremony decor. Because of that, she scrimped in other areas to spend a wee bit more for those little flowers tied to every second chair (pretty!).
It goes to show you that you don't need to be spend a lot of extra money on urns or extravagent displays.

Kristen varied the color of those flowers tied to her ceremony chairs. Some are a deeper purple while others are a deep pink. The mix is a nice match with the rose petals. And the green little ribbon tying the flower to the chairs - cute eh! - they actually make the pink and purple stand out even more!
Seeee, another example of how keeping it simple leads to some really stunning results!
Where to Find Freeze Dried Rose Petals
and Wholesale Rose Petals
When buying them you want to make sure you get them between 1 day and 2 weeks before your wedding. Any sooner and there is more chance that they will discolor or wilt. When you do get them, make sure to store them somewhere cool and dark (i.e. the back of a closet in an air conditioned house). Not sure how much you need? About 1.5 cups will cover a single sqaure foot. So a 10 foot aisle would require approximately 15 cups.
