One of my first friends to tie-the-knot married a very charming Italian man with a traditional (and sweet!) grandmother. Not only did his Nonna make the most fabulous homemade pasta sauce, but she also helped them put together the homemade olive oil wedding favor gifts they gave their guests.

As a bride, you probably don't want to go out to buy olive oil from the grocery store shelf and then hand it to your guests exactly as-is at your wedding. Sure, it's practical but it's not really that special. And, if you're wedding is anything, it IS special.

What you CAN do is buy olive oil off the shelf (or in bulk) and then package it in smaller bottles at home. You can choose your olive oil brand based on budget. And, if you're really adventurous you can infuse it with herbs and garlic like my friends nonna-in-law did many years ago. Just make sure you make or buy some really cute labels or hangtags.
