Outdoor Wedding Locations

There are a ton of different outdoor wedding locations.

Deciding which one is right for you can be a tough decision. You're weighing your general feeling of the place with both price and convenience. Below are several ideas to help you make that choice a little more easily.

Just make sure you choose your wedding location wisely...the right choice can save you thousands (find out how in Perfect Weddings Without the Debt).

Garden Weddings Are Charming and Quaint

If you're a flower-lover and are planning a quaint wedding a garden wedding location might be the perfect venue you.

Depending on where you live there might be certain restrictions however. For example, where I live in Toronto none of our gardens are open to receptions. Ceremonies are allowed, but you chairs aren't - which makes the whole thing kind of pointless. This changes from city to city so check out what you can do in your area.

Zoos & Amuesment Parks Are Magical Outdoor Wedding Locations

Do you want to do something a little more unique and different? Consider zoos and amusment parks for your wedding! Not all cities provide this as an option but many do. I love this idea - there's something really magical, romantic, and youthful about it.

Keep it Simple and Casual With a Backyard Wedding

If you access to good-sized backyard and want to keep it really simple, intimate and casual a backyard wedding might be perfect for you.

The only thing you want to consider is the fact that you want have an event coordinator or groundskeeper on staff to take care of all your needs on the day of (and days leading up to) your wedding. Make sure you put someone in charge or have a day-of coordinator to help you out.

Find Diversity and Convenience in Estates, Inns and Plantations

There are Inn's and retreat centers in all shapes and sizes. You can find a venue that will service small intimate weddings or larger scale events.

What makes them so convenient is that most will have all the supplies you need for an outdoor wedding - tents, wedding arches, and all the basics like chairs and tables. If you don't want to fuss with finding these things separate this might be a great option for you.

Golf Clubs Are Modern Outdoor Wedding Locations

Even if the bride/groom aren't big fans of golf it doens't mean you can't getting married at a golf clubs. In fact, there are loads of reasons to get married at a golf club.

In some smaller towns (and even bigger ones) for instance, golf clubs are one of the few venues that can host convenient and beautiful outdoor weddings. Like Inns, Estates and Planations they will either have onsite tents or an indoor location suitable in case of rain.

Vineyards Have Loads of Decorative and Natural Ambiance

If you live in an area with Vineyards you're getting alot of the convenience you'll find in a retreat center or Inn PLUS alot of ambiance built in. It's also great if you're planning a vineyard-themed wedding.

The only thing about Vineyard weddings is that there aren't alot of them that will host weddings under 50 people. While larger weddings do seem more intimate at a vinyard wedding, you can't exactly plan a super small, super intimiate wedding at a vineyard.

Beach Weddings Are Idyllic and Romantic

Let's start by saying that I'm a huge fan of beach weddings I think I've said this before, but I'm going to say it again... If I could plan my wedding again I'd be getting married on a beach - hands down!

While beach theme weddings don't have to take place on the beach, most do. And even though most outdoor weddings have a lot of pretty eye candy, there's something that's just so beautiful about water. Photos are always stunning and like with

Ranch or Farmland Weddings Are Rustic and Intimate

Country weddings on ranches and farms are extremely popular for weddings these days. They're naturally rich in that rustic charm that we're all so fond of.

Many of the farms and ranches who host weddings will have all the staff you need to help you out on the day of your wedding. But, if they don't make sure to consider a day-of wedding coordinator.

What to look for in An Outdoor Wedding Location

  • A Gazebo: Many gardens and inns have large gazebo's on their grounds. If you you really want to get married in a garden or at an inn, make sure they have a large gazebo that can see all of your guests in the case of rain.

  • Wedding Tents: Many gardens and inns have large gazebo's on their grounds. If you you really want to get married in a garden or at an inn, make sure they have a large gazebo that can see all of your guests in the case of rain.

  • Other covered locations: If there isn't a gazebo or tent make sure there is some kind of covered space to get married. Beach weddings often have beach houses, farms and ranches will often have farms, and all inns will have something indoors as well.
