6 Unique Ways To Decorate Your Wedding With Paper Lanterns

When people think of using paper lanterns for wedding decor they usually just think of using them in tents. Makes sense since this is the most popular way to use them. and is a really great way to make your tent look great for cheap.

In addition to decorating you wedding tent, you can however decorate a whole lot of other things - from your cermeony chairs to your alter. The below 6 ideas are my favorite for brides who want to keep it simple while still being creative, unique, and savvy while sticking to a fixed budget.

These, paper lanterns come in a ton of different colors, shapes and designs. I thik it's great that no matter your theme and style-loves might be there's a paper lantern just for you.

1} Replace Ceremony Chair Bows and Flowers With Paper Lanterns

Don't you just love this! When I saw these wedding photos how this couple decorated their ceremony venue I just thought that they were the coolest most clever couple ever. For about 1/2 the cost of fancy chair flowers or bows or they got 2x the style! This couples color theme was blue, purple, and white, but what they've done would work with any color scheme. And you know what?! If you really want to save, you can then reuse these at your reception venue!!!

2} Ceilings Shmelings...Who Says You Have To Hang Them From Above

Clever right! I don't know about you, but when I think of paper lanterns I usually think of hanging them from the ceilings. This couple used three paper lanterns in three different sizes and tied them together and then to the hand railing. Love it! Simple and unique!!!

3} Don't Be Afraid of Color

White is one of my favorite colors for weddings. In fact, I think every couple should include just a bit of white - at the very least. With that said, there are some spaces that need a beautiful blast of color. The pictures here are a perfect example of that. Plain white would have looked flat and blah in these environments.

4} Use Unique Shapes

No need to use a lot of lanterns, especially if you're going to go with an unusal shape. The below squares are quite popular. An oval shape is popular too. These square paper lanterns decorated the area above the altar and were held up by two trees on either side. Clever!

5} Make Wedding Paper Lanterns Your Main Tent Decor

There are quite a few different ways you can decorate you wedding tent. Paper lanterns are quite possibly one of the most playful, photo-worthy and simple ideas for that. I really think that all you need is bunch of simple, round paper lanterns in a bunch of different sizes. With this type of grand look, your centerpeices and other decor can be a lot more basic. These weddings below are a good example of this.

6} A Simple String of Lanterns at the End of The Aisle

This is a really clever decor idea too - and a lot cheaper than earns! And while some venues would work better with one or the other, I think that just the rose petals or just the lanterns on their own wouldn't have been nearly as effective in this space.
