When I was writing this page I was inspired by a letter from a bride-to-be. She was very torn between what she wanted and what other people were saying was "right" for a summer wedding.
Sadly, I don't think she's the only bride-to-be who's experienced this. I just can't stress enough that even though part of your job is making sure everyone has a fun time at your wedding it's still your day.
YOU are planning the wedding and are the only one who has to be really inspired by the theme. The more passionate about the idea, the easier the planning. Plus, it's your day to remember and it'd be silly to stray from a color for a person (or people) who won't remember 6 months later!
Red
Some people think that red is more appropriate for winter and fall weddings, and ya, maybe fall and winter themes would be the first to come to mind, but it certainly doesn't have to be that way.
Using the right kind of red or using it in the right proportion to other colors quickly and easily turns red into the perfect summer wedding color.
Great summer wedding color combinations for red include champagne, pink and green.

Remember that even if you choose to go with a darker or intense color you can still give it a very summery feel with the type of flower you choose or the ratio of color. Go with light airy flowers and use more of a lighter color to decorate your rooms - with only the intense color acting as an accent.
In the end, go with inspires you and makes you really exited because this will make planning fun and easier. It's your day, make it "you".
