3 Unique Ways To Get Very Cheap Wedding Invitations
Finding nice, but very cheap wedding invitations is one of the simplest things you can do to keep your wedding costs low. And while every bride and groom knows that they're going to have to compromise on a few aspects of their dream wedding, it isn't always easy. Well, this page is going to help.
I'm going to share 3 ideas from the K.i.s.s Wedding Guide to show you that there are some simple ways to get very stylish and very cheap wedding invitations no matter what your budget.
Be Unique With Your DIY Invitation Kits
Business supply stores sell some of THE cheapest DIY invite kits you can find anywhere - hands down. Usually a pack of 50 will cost around $20.
The only problem with these is that they don't usually have a lot of options. I live in Canada's biggest city (Toronto) and there are usually only about 5 options to choose from. I can imagine the choices would be even slimmer in a small town America.
You do have other options. The first, pimp up one of the simple Business Store invites. That's what we did. We added a few fancy elements and in the end we probably paid about $50 for 50 invites. Still not bad right!
The other option is online DIY wedding invitation kit stores. Here are three companies to start with:
- LCI Invites. I love these guys. They have like a gagillion invite designs and their prices start as low as $20!
- Download and Print. She has some free templates so that all you end up having to pay for are the supplies you need to make the invites with - paper, colored ink, ribbons, etc!
- Wedding Clipart. You can save on ALL your wedding stationary...from invites to wedding programs. Here you pay a monthly fee ($33.95) to use the site. With that fee you get unlimited access to ALL templates. If you want custom printing, they do that too!
That brings me to this - The one thing to keep in mind when using DIY invite kits is the hassle of printing. It nearly drove us mad. And to be honest, even though our invites were wicked cool, I don't think I would go this route again.
Be Unique And Save Big Time With Ready-to-send Invitations
Sure there are the custom and high-end invitations we can all gawk at, but for us regular folk in the "real" world there's also what I call "ready-to-send" invitations - the equivalent of ready-to-wear fashion.
You can get some VERY nice and VERY cheap wedding invitations from these ready-to-send suppliers. You might be able to find some in your home town, but there are also a few good places online. See below for a few examples:
Wedding Paper Divas
Wedding Paper Divas is probably the all-around most affordable option, while still having a lot of choices.
They're online interface is really great too! You can actually see how all of the invites look in their different color schemes. AND, since they're one of the most popular online suppliers of wedding invites they'll treat you very well because it's essential to their success that they have good ratings.
VPONSALE
VPONSALE only recently reached my radar, but boy are they ever an awesome spot to get very cheap invites!
It's a little annoying going through the site because they don't have prices on the thumbnail page. But, the look and cost of the invites make that annoyance go away. It's also great that they have an "On Sale" section and their categories are organized nicely making it a little easier to find what you're looking for.
Invitation Consultants
Invitation Consultants sells invites for EVERY occassion - from weddings to baby showers!
They also have some of the most dramatic price ranges of all the invitation suppliers I've seen online. Some are nearly a thousand dollars while others are under $100. The great thing is that you can sort the view by price AND theme! And again - they're ratings are really important to their success to they spend a lot of money making sure they're customers are treated well.
Be Unique And Send E-invitations
You can't get any cheaper than this because not only are you saving on the invitations you're also save on postage - ka'ching!
There are a lot of places that offer web-based invites, but the most wedding-appropriate would have to be Pingg.com. And while you might not be ready to send out your "real" invitations this way, they also do wedding save-the-dates and engagement announcments.
Honestly, you'd be crazy NOT to use these guys for your save-the-dates and/or engagement announcements. Unless of course you live a very shi-shi life in which case you probably haven't read all the way down to this part of the page anyways.
