Winter Wedding Invitation Ideas
Winter wedding invitation designs can evoke the lightness and the snowflake or the richness in a smooth and deep red wine. Silver, light blue and white themes are great for ice princess, snowflake or winter wonderland themes. Winter wedding invites with red, black and deep purple are great for themes like fireside romance, wine cellar or winter stars themes.
Below are my favorite ideas for winter wedding invites. There are a ton of color options and price options. Regardless of where you are in the planning process you'll be able to appreciate that the ideas below provide some obvious winter themes (like snowflakes) as well as colors and style options that evoke a wintery feel.
Winter Scenes For Your Winter Wedding Invitation
One of the most popular themes for a winter wedding is "Winter Wonderland". If that's the theme you're going for then these invitations are perfect. I think they can also work well for cozier and laid back winter weddings. If you're going for a more wedding theme look and like the idea of including tress on your invites, go for one of the more simple designs.
My Picks
Damasks and Ornate Designs With a Wintery Feel
Damasks and fancy designs can work in any seasons but I just love them for winter weddings! They're rich, romantic, and ... wintery. The damask design (or any ornate design for that matter) paired with black, grey, deep greys, and wines or reds make for a rich and romantic winter wedding invitation.
My Picks
Snowflake Winter Wedding Invitations
Like the winter scene, snowflakes make a great motif for winter wonderland weddings. What I like about snowflake invites is the fact that it's a fun motif to incorporate into your decor as well. Sprinkle some fake snowflakes around your centerpiece, hang snowflake bookmark favors from trees as decor, and the "Star of Bethlehem" flower which looks a bit like a snowflake is fabulous in floral displays and bouquets! The other great thing about the snowflake is that it can look super chic or super cozy. You pick!

Photo Invitations For Winter Weddings
I've always loved photo invites for beach weddings, BUT, these designs were MADE for winter weddings. When getting your engagement shots make sure you show your photographer the invitation you want to get. That way she can take photos with that in mind. And even if you take your photos in the fall (or even summer) try to ake some shots that'll work for your winter invites.
My Picks
Simple Designs in Wintery Colors
Just because you're getting married in the winter doesn't mean that you have to have a winter motif on your invites or even in your decor. Color is often all that you need! Deep reds, black, creams, whites, blues and rich pinks, greens, and greys gives a wonderful winter'y feel without all the fuss of a motif!
My Picks
Christmas-themed Winter Wedding Invitations
Are you getting married near December 25th? If so, a Christmas-themed wedding and/or invitations is a fun idea. And if you like the idea, but don't want to seem like you're planning a Christmas party for kids, you're invitations can be quite understated and simple. Deep navy with decorative bulbs, stylistic trees (or bulbs) or modern stars are all great ideas! And even though red is a fabulous color for a Christmas wedding, blues (both dark and light) are also really lovely!
